Revlon Photo Ready Foundation

Many many fans wrote to Lollipop26 about trying Revlon’s Photoready Foundation calling it a cheaper version of the Nars Sheer Glow foundation makeup.  It just recently because available in the UK, even then Lollipop26 had a hard time finding it in stores.  Revlon sent Lollipop26 a sample of the Revlon Photoready Foundation.  It’s not like Nars Sheer Glow in Lollipop26’s opinion.  Though it is easy to apply and blend, it does not look cakey or heavy and you don’t look like you are wearing foundation.  Have noticed a fine shimmer that shows in direct sunlight, the sunlight will eliminate your skin.  Since Lollipop26 is now living in Dubai, a middle eastern city lying on sub topical belt it is a desert and hence it is obvious to have high temperatures. The temperature may vary from 15 degree Celsius in winters to 2 degrees in summers this product may not be best in this climate, particularly if you do not like the shimmer effect sunlight will produce.   However, it may be a better product for wear regularly in the UK.  Lollipop26 compares this product with Excalibur.  Other YouTube Makeup Gurus were comparing it to Makeup Forever’s HD Foundation and fans of Lollipop26’s YouTube channel were comparing it to Nars Sheer Glow.

What are the other YouTube Makeup Gurus think about the product?

Pros: Lollipop26 and her YouTube counter parts agree that; Photo Ready does have a shimmer to it which will make your skin glow not only in sunlight but also in photographs.  It blends easily and provides a medium coverage, it won’t leave your face looking cakey. It has a pump for easy application.  Also, everyone agrees that it good quality for the money.

Cons: There is a very limited range of colors, particularly for users of a darker complexion which means that you will have to blend the makeup.  This is a huge potential problem and deterrent for many people because this is a difficult skill to master.  It can also be a little expensive depending on the type of makeup you use and the amount of waste you create.  The shimmer of the makeup may not work well for people with very oily skin.

The shimmer seems to be the main concern for most people.  Many folks like a bit of shimmer but not in their foundation.  Again, depending on the type of climate you live in (whether it’s hot and sunny all the time or a more mild temperature) your concern regarding the shimmer may vary.  Also, the shimmer may be reduced by using a finishing powder.

Lollipop26 points out a few even more strong points on her blog at http://www.lollipop26writes.com/search/label/Revlon . The shimmer may compliment olive toned skinned amazingly well, creating an incredible glow. For many people the shimmer may complicate things having to combine gloss and blush on foundation with shimmer all over your face already. Lollipop26 sees this as a matte and satin finish instead of a lustre, which is a quality to many prefer in their foundation.
Anyway, try the product out for yourself and tell us what you think about it!
